This summer, I had the privilege of continuing to serve as a Team Lead at Fresh Harvest 365, contracted through Bayer Crop Science. Over the past two years, this opportunity allowed me to oversee a team of 17 individuals and grow both personally and professionally.

As a future educator, agronomy was initially one of my weaker areas within the agricultural field. Thanks to Western Illinois University, I was able to take part in this apprenticeship and work my way into a leadership role. This experience not only strengthened my agronomic knowledge, but also taught me how to collaborate with team members, develop effective plans, and coordinate daily field operations.

I have had the opportunity to serve in this role since May 2025. However, as I begin my student teaching journey, I have stepped away from this position to focus on the next chapter of becoming an educator.

While I may be leaving the role, I am taking much more with me than agronomic knowledge. This program allowed me to build meaningful relationships, make valuable connections, develop leadership skills, and gain experiences that will continue to shape me as a future teacher and lifelong learner.

I am incredibly grateful to everyone at Fresh Harvest 365, Bayer Crop Science, and Western Illinois University who contributed to this experience and helped me grow along the way. I look forward to carrying these lessons into my classroom and continuing to learn, lead, and grow in the years ahead.
